BIO: Jinmi Abduls
Jinmi Abduls” was born Folarin Oluwafeyijinmi Abdulsalami on August 27th 1997 in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. His earliest contact with music was from his early childhood years wherein he was surrounded by many musical instruments both at home and at church where he spent a lot of time. He created an interest in a few, specially inspired by multi-instrumentalist elder sister. At age 10 he won a phone on the talent competition edition the Moments With Mo show and got rather addicted the phones radio feature which introduced him to all sorts of music from around the world and it was at that point he knew he wanted to make music for life. His first recorded song was “With you” produced by his elder brother, formerly known as Versebeats at age 11, after he became a frequent visitor of studios and an eager studio rat in many studios in Lagos, recording. He teamed up with his elder brother, making all sorts of genres for the next 5 years, discovering his sound, developing a love for old Nigerian high-life music, which he then decided to re-brand. His brother quit production and Jinmi moved on meeting new producers and teaming up with them on various projects.
In August 2015, he joined hands with H.O.D and created Pose, followed it up with a remix and visuals in early 2016 and in June 2016, he released Tinuke Eko.
Jinmi is not only a recording/performing singer and songwriter, he is also an avid reader, multi – instrumentalist, entrepreneur, record producer and sound engineer.
